It’s officially expo season and we’re off to a great start! We just got home from Southeast Overland and Offroad Expo which was held in Starke, FL at the F.I.R.M. We had the honor of being a part of its kick off year in 2021 so obviously, we went big for year two! We headed out to Starke with our friends from Light Force USA and the Peru family, better known as TinyHomeToyHauler for a weekend of all things Overlanding!
A New Look
We’ve made some upgrades since the 2021 expo season. This was our first show where we were equipped with our new mobile showroom! Stocked with all things van parts, we were able to bring the variety of the van/Overlanding world to the show with ease and style. Not only was this easier on us, but even better for our customers so you could browse our stock and easily find what they needed or wanted. We’re excited to haul the showroom across the country this year, but it was great for its first stop to be in our home state!
Representing the Community
It was amazing to see how this expo has gained much more of a following even in just one year! To start, there were more vendors and even some big names in the industry like Dometic, Backwoods Adventure Mods, and Rhino Rack! The Florida cool kids were held down by us, Kings Chariot Overland, Mango Vans and more local vendors.
The whole community was represented at the show with every type of overland rig, trailer, van, parts retailer, and lifestyle gear suited for every type of adventure. The community showed up as well. Not only was the Florida Overlanding crowd out, but people from all over the country came by. We met people from New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Maine, and more that made a long haul just to experience this exciting new expo!
Much to Do
Like any good Expo, SEOO was packed with activities for visitors to take part in! The ever popular off road course was back with a bang and was joined by the new addition of the Off Road Obstacle course! People got to push their rigs to the limit and practice their crawling skills in a safe place before they hit the real trails.
As much as we wish the van and Ekko could take on either of these courses, that just wasn’t in the cards. So instead we sent our guys out in their own rigs and brought our Exocet for everyone to play with! In typical FVG fashion, we sent it probably too hard and have officially made getting stuck and causing a scene a tradition. But where’s the fun in playing it safe? Big thanks to the staff for pulling us to safety one or two or three times!
There was plenty of learning to be done at SEOO as well! The seminars offered included first aid safety, off road communication, and our friend Dean from Blue Ridge Overland Gear lead classes on Overlanding in a Trailer, Off Road Navigation, and Recovery Skills! It’s important for everyone, both newbies and veterans to refresh and learn these valuable skills.
Here's to the Next!
A huge thanks to everyone who came out to support this awesome show and an extra special thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit us. We can’t wait for the next SEOO, so count us in for next year Alissa!
